Figure This! Mathematics Challenges for Families provides interesting math challenges for middle-school students to do at home with their families. Each "challenge" includes a description of the important math involved, a note on where the math is used in the real world, a hint to get started and complete solutions!
The NCTM Illuminations Web site provides Internet resources that will help improve the teaching and learning of mathematics for all students. Among its many offerings, "Illuminations" provides standards-based resources for classroom use.
n an effort to help districts and schools as the September 11 anniversary approaches, we have compiled a list of links that include curricula as well as guides for parents, teachers and students.
